Welcome to WildFile. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that you and your family have a safe, fun experience exploring nature. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the WildFile application.

2. The Photos You Take

WildFile uses artificial intelligence to identify the animals you photograph. When you snap a picture, the image is securely sent to our servers and processed by our AI partners solely for the purpose of identifying the species.

• Your photos are not stored long-term by our third-party AI providers — they are processed for identification and are not retained by them afterwards.
• Your photos are never used to train public AI models, by us or by our AI partners.
• We do not scan photos for human faces or personal identifying information.
• WildFile staff may review submitted photos and account activity to enforce fair play and keep the game safe for everyone.
• We recommend photographing only wildlife, bugs, and plants—not people or private property.

3. Account Information

When you create a WildFile account, we collect your email address and a display name, handled through our secure sign-in provider. We use these solely to operate your account — signing you in, keeping your catches and progress linked to you, and contacting you about your account if needed. Your display name is visible to other players in your family group; your email address is never shown to other users, and we do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing.

4. Camera and Device Permissions

WildFile requests access to your device's camera so that you can photograph wildlife within the app interface — this is the core of the game. We may also request access to your photo library so you can submit an existing photo of a creature you've spotted. These permissions are used only for these purposes, and you can revoke them at any time in your device settings (though you won't be able to log new catches without them).

5. Children's Privacy

WildFile is designed to be family-friendly. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent. All child accounts should be created and managed by a parent or guardian. There are no social networking or direct messaging features in the app.

6. Location Data

We may request access to your device's coarse location to help identify local species accurately and log where you found a creature for your personal Dex. We do not share your exact location with other users.

7. Data Storage and UK GDPR

We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time.

8. Account and Data Deletion

You can request the total deletion of your account and all associated data — including your photos, logged Dex entries, badges, and profile information — at any time. To do so, email us at hello@wildfile.co.uk from the email address linked to your account, and we will delete your account and confirm once complete.
